To obtain a representative sample, schools will be stratified by district and size with the goal of enrolling an estimated equal number of schools from each district and size. Schools will be selected from the strata proportionally to their size. Schools will be selected in the following order: (1) small schools (3- to 5-teachers); (2) medium schools (6-teachers); and (3) large schools (12-teachers). This method produces a sample that is representative of districts and school sizes in the southeastern United States. Because it will be powered to detect effect sizes as small as 0.2, no more than two schools will be enrolled from each school district. For each participating school, the district’s Chief Administrator (or designee) will complete a short survey to obtain information about organizational characteristics. Using the school’s staff composition from the district’s personnel records, a random sample of 160 school administrators (20%), 50 mental health clinicians (50%), and 50 physical education teachers (50%) will be invited to complete a short survey.
