"Pilaf and the Mystery Force" (ピラフと謎なぞの軍ぐん団だん, Pirafu to Nazo no Gundan, lit. "Pilaf and the Mysterious Army") is the thirtieth episode of Dragon Ball and the second episode of the Red Ribbon Army Saga. This episode first aired in Japan on September 17, 1986. Its original American airdate was February 12, 2002.
The Red Ribbon Army comes into the pawn shop shortly after that and also gets a Four-Star Dragon Ball. The Pawn shop dealer has a box filled with fake four-star Dragon Balls in the back room. They know it is fake and when Colonel Silver drops it, it breaks into several pieces. The radar is actually reacting to the 6-star dragon ball in a gull's nest on top of the pawn shop. The Red Ribbon Army is angered, so they kill the owner of the shop. We see a close-up of the mysterious leader of the Red Ribbon Army. Emperor Pilaf also realizes his Dragon Ball is fake after he also drops his and it shatters.

Goku and Vegeta are off to train, trying to decide what criteria they should use for choosing their teammates. They run into Krillin, who reveals that Goku lied to Chi-chi about the tournament, calling it a picnic. Goku explains the situation to Krillin about the super dragon balls and the universe contests made by Champa and Beerus.
Elsewhere, Whis questions Beerus attitude toward Goku. They recall all of the events of the past episodes. Whis deduces that Beerus and Goku are actually alike. On their way to talk to Piccolo, Goten and Trunks ask to join the fight but Vegeta says fusion is against the rules so they have to become strong on their own if they want to fight.
Dragon Ball was an anime series that ran from 1986 to 1989. In total 153 episodes of Dragon Ball were aired. With a total of 21 reported filler episodes, Dragon Ball has a low filler percentage of 14%.
According to the episode 30 spoilers, the next "Dragon Ball Super" will determine whether Piccolo can still train someone who has already surpassed his powers as can be gleaned in the trailer when the two were engaged in rigorous training.

Dragon Ball Super episode 30 is finished and it is a mixed bag to say the least. The new parts of the episode are great because Goku and Vegeta are looking for new members to join the team. However, a good chunk of the show are just recaps of what happened in previous episodes.
Recap clip shows are good to use if it is a show that has been going on for many years and seasons. A show like The Simpsons can get away with it as that has been going on for over 27 years. For Dragon Ball Super to use it after just 30 episodes since the series started in July, it seems redundant.
Basically, the first half of the episode is Goku just telling Krillin what happened just two episodes ago with Champa appearing. During the latter half of the episode, they show clips of what happened between Goku vs Beerus in the Battle of Gods saga. If you are going to watch this episode, you can pretty much skip all the recycled stuff. 781b155fdc
